JOB DESCRIPTION

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime’s (MOPAC) important mission is to hold the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to account, challenge service delivery and value for money, and ensure London’s public service agencies work closely together and with communities.

MOPAC strives to champion the prevention of crime, the achievement of justice for victims, reduction in re-offending and will oversee everything from MPS budgets and policies to performance.
 
As the Head of Strategy and Corporate Planning, you’ll be responsible for setting and managing the Policing and Crime Plan, producing its annual updates; overseeing the production of corporate strategy as well as the core mechanisms for the oversight of the MPS’s criminal justice partners on behalf of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor. 

This is a high profile job at the heart of the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime and to be successful you’ll need extensive senior leadership experience within a complex government, policing or criminal justice environment; the ability to engage and manage relationships with high level partners and stakeholders from multiple agencies and to manage programmes and projects in a political context and at pace. This vacancy is open to secondee’s for up to 24 months.
