Programme and Project Manager - Knife Crime

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.

MOPAC are looking to appoint an experienced Programme and Project Manager to support the delivery of the Mayors Knife Crime Strategy. Working alongside a Programme Manager, across the organisation and with stakeholders, the successful applicant will focus on the delivery of specific strategy commitments linked to criminal justice, community safety and community engagement over a six-month period.  

 

Role requirements are experience of project management and implementation. A high level of experience in using tools to enable project delivery is required, including budget management, Gantt charts, risk logs etc. A proven track record in project management is essential as is the ability to manage relationships between different stakeholders and partners. Understanding of knife crime, the criminal justice system and community safety is also essential to ensure that the successful applicant can hit the ground running and get projects moving swiftly.

Political Restriction; Under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of the MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.

 

The successful candidate will preferably already be DBS checked to CTC level, or expected to undergo the necessary security vetting.
