Programme Manager

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.

 

This is an exciting time to join MOPAC to drive the delivery of a new Police and Crime Plan for London. We are a dedicated, professional, highly skilled workforce and are committed to equality and diversity.

 

We are looking to appoint a Programme Manager in the Criminal Justice and Commissioning Directorate to develop, commission and oversee projects and programmes of work to deliver on the Police and Crime Plan. You will also act as a first point of contact for partnership working.

 

The successful candidate will need a proven track record in programme management to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. Role requirements are to be educated to degree level and/or relevant programme management qualification or have equivalent experience. An exceptional ability to build relationships, influence and negotiate with stakeholders and partners is required.

 

You will also have a good understanding of the criminal justice system and of the provision of victim support services and experience of policy development and implementation. The successful candidate will be expected to complete a security clearance and the role will require the need to work outside office hours occasionally.

 

Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of the MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.

 

The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting which may take up to 8 weeks to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.
