Programme Officer (x2 Posts)

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor, Metropolitan Police Service, and broader Criminal Justice partners to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.

As one of our Programme Officers, you will assist the delivery of Police & Crime Plan ambitions on making a safer city for everyone in London, no matter who you are and where you live and providing extra support for those most vulnerable people and places.  The newly published Police and Crime Plan and its commitments, which you will be working to, can be found at https://www.london.gov.uk/what-we-do/mayors-office-policing-and-crime-mopac/police-and-crime-plan-safer-city-all-londoners

Flexibility is essential as the post may be asked to support a variety of programmes of work against our established priorities. In the first instance, however, the two successful post holders will be working in either the Criminal Justice Services team or the Violence Against Women & Girls team. 

This role requires previous experience of programme management as well as policy development and a track record of effective policy implementation.  You will have a working knowledge of policing and crime issues together with demonstrable ability to build relationships influence and negotiate successfully with stakeholders and partners. The role has a need to work outside office hours on an occasional basis and at different locations given the responsibility for partner working.
