The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.
This is an exciting time to join MOPAC to drive the delivery of a new Police and Crime Plan for London. We are a dedicated, professional, highly skilled workforce and are committed to equality and diversity.
This will be a varied role working across the organisation, the Metropolitan Police Service and local communities supporting the development and implementation of our new approach to active citizenship; working with existing engagement mechanisms, such as Safer Neighbourhood Boards and Ward Panels, and developing new methods of engagement, including digital.
The successful candidate will require a good understanding of public engagement methodologies and practice, effective project support skills and the ability to work collaboratively across MOPAC and with external partners.
Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of the MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.
The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting which may take up to 8 weeks to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.
