Programme Officer – Child House

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.

 

With the drive of the delivery of a new Police and Crime Plan for London, this is an exciting time to join MOPAC.

 

MOPAC are looking to appoint an experienced Programme Officer for the implementation of a Child Houses in London. The vision for the Child House is for the public to be aware of one place children and young people can go following child sexual abuse or exploitation. You will support the Programme Manager and ensure that all aspects of the development and implementation of this project were delivered on time and within budget.

 

Experience of project management and implementation, you will also need a high level of experience in using tools to enable project delivery is required, including budget management, Gantt charts, risk logs etc. A proven track record in project management is essential as is the ability to manage relationships between different stakeholders and partners. Understanding of safeguarding, child sexual abuse and child protection is also required.

 

Political Restriction; Under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of the MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.

 

You will be preferably already be DBS checked to CTC level, or expected to undergo the necessary security vetting.
