We believe violence is preventable, not inevitable.

Do you have a passion for supporting communities to thrive?

Are you experienced at bringing people together and developing relationships with others to help bring about change?

Are you passionate about making a difference and understand that young people, families and communities must be the forefront of solutions to tackle violence?

If this sounds like you, then we have an exciting opportunity for a Community Engagement Lead to join London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU).

London’s VRU is focused on stopping violence before it happens through an approach that is rooted in prevention and early intervention.

We are a team of specialists who use our expertise to work in partnership with communities, councils, the NHS, public health, the police, schools and colleges and charities, to co-ordinate efforts and bring about change.

We are looking for a Community Engagement Lead to join us in supporting some of our developing strands of work. This includes managing and developing our youth work, our work with the faith and housing sectors, and our community outreach programme.

The VRU recognises the life-changing work of youth sector practitioners in supporting young people who are at risk of violence in London. The Community Engagement Lead will work on programmes promoting the VRU’s mission to support and champion the role of youth workers in our city.

The candidate will also help to develop the VRU’s pilot programme focusing on how the VRU can support and enable the faith sector to continue to contribute towards violence reduction.
